Diet and Weight Management

In America, the word diet has mistakenly assumed a short term connotation. More accurately, your diet is everything eat, drink and consume 24/7 365. According to Deepak Chopra, your diet even consists of how and when you eat.

“Fill your plate with the colors of the rainbow. What pleases the eye pleases the body as a whole.” ~Deepak Chopra

I published my book in 2013 and have been working with weight loss patients since. What I’ve learned is that losing weight is actually the easy part. Anyone, maybe not anyone, but most can make short-term sacrifices in pursuit of a goal, especially if that is an aesthetic goal. The hard part is keeping the weight off because that requires real and permanent lifestyle change – that’s hard. The good news is that you don’t have to be at your fighting weight all year long. It’s ok to put on a few pounds over the winter or rainy season when you’re less active. What’s not ok is if you don’t have a plan to reel it back in.
